Green Meadow Foundation celebrated international Day of Forests successfully in collaboration with Forest Department Gilgit Baltistan, Gilgit Baltistan Rural support programme (GBRSP and other stake holders at Aga Khan Medical Centre Gilgit. Numerous numbers of Stake Holders, Corporate Partners, Private Sector NGO’s, Bank Sectors, Educational Institutions, Volunteers, Members & Scouts have participated & celebrated the event with zeal & zest.


Green Meadow Foundation has donate, delivered & planted hundreds of plants to Aga Khan Medical Centre on the occasion of “International day of Forests” & mutually agreed to conduct future events and activities.
 
Mr. Khadim Abbass (Conservator Forest Department GB Gilgit Circle),Mr, Ashfaq Ahmed (General Manager GBRSP), Mr. Sajid Hussain (Administrator Gilgit Medical Centre), Mr.Basit Ali ( Provincial Coordinator FAO UN), Mr.Zahid Hamid (RFO GB Govt) Mr, Saadat ( CEO AFSS), Ms.Dilshad Bano (Social & Political Figure GB), Ms. Samina Saadat (Director AFSS GB),Mr. Zafar Ali Khan ( Branch Manager Khushali Bank), Dr. Gulsamber Khan ( Child Specialist) along with other Doctors & GMC staff have participated & planted trees.
 
The President  & V.President of Green Meadow Foundation Mr.Israr Ahmed & Ms. Shahana Khan has welcome the guests formally. During the session The Directors Mr. Ghafar Khan & Mr.Iktidar Hussain has formally given a presentation & briefed the dignitaries about the daylong event. Members of GMF have presented Plants, T.Shirts & Caps, to the all invitees.  Programme concluded with note of thanks by Mr,Sajid Hussain Administrator GMC Gilgit.

Though the precise definition of ecotourism remains ambiguous even within the circles of tourism experts but the simplest and most widely accepted definition of Ecotourism, developed by the Ecotourism Society, USA is: "Responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and sustains the well being of local people".
